A Walk Down the Produce Aisle

Well this week, our baby graduates to a prune! According to "The Book" our baby is "growing by leaps and bounds". This week bones and cartilage are forming and there are indentations on the legs that are going to grow into knees and ankles. The baby's elbows are already working and tiny teeth buds are going to form in the baby's gums! The stomach is already producing digestive juices and this is the fact that you are all waiting for...the kidneys are producing urine! What a lovely thought that a large part of the amniotic fluid the baby is floating around in is urine! Ha! If we have a boy, this baby is going to start producing testosterone this week. Oh yeah, and now our baby has added a half inch to his/her length! Little baby is 1.5 inches long.

As for me the mommy, I have not had a whole lot a sickness (praise the Lord) and my main "symptom" is being tired. Naps are a wonderful addition to my day; when I can add them! It will be a while before there are any baby bump pictures posted. No baby bump yet, just a feeling of, "Hmmm, these shorts don't fit quite right anymore!"

So just for a fun little survey...who thinks we should find out the sex of our baby before he/she is born?

So thankful that you aren't getting sick! It is no fun at all!

I think you guys should wait and find out when he/she is born! We would have done that if it wasn't twins! Here are my reasons (I might have shared this with you before):

a.) You get EVERYTHING you need for EVERY baby. If people know the gender, then they find a cute boy or girl outfit and buy that, instead of a monitor, or bath tub or something else. Or you get gift cards, which you can use for the things you need or save them for clothes once the baby is born. *just a thought*

b.) It is Joshua's moment of glory. He gets to go to the waiting room and burst out "ITS A BOY/GIRL!!!" Or he gets to call everyone and tell them. Instead of like us "They're four pounds". See, not as exciting. The whole pregnancy is all about how you feel and so forth - but that moment is for Joshua.

Cheesy, maybe, I know! :)

Hope you guys are doing well! We miss y'all!

Leave it to Molly to give all the advice...:)

I say do whatever sounds like the most fun. There is no way I would have had the patience to wait. It would have been torture! More fun for us to find out.

I do have two suggetions that made the pregnancy fun for us. "What to expect..." is good, but kinda boring. You should go to a website called Baby-gaga.com. It is full of funny takes on each week of pregnacy and a ticker. Also, try the book "From Conception to Birth". I had it for a text in one Dr. Allison's classes, but it has some amazing pictures about the development of a little baby.

Congrats guys! I wish we could be there to celebrate with you.

Hi Joshua & Amelia. I think you should do whichever you both want, of course, but I always thought it was more exciting to wait and find out at delivery. On some of ours we did choose to find out early & that was fun too & your able to plan ahead more-unless your one of those lucky ones that they don't get right !!! We love you guys & are praying for you. Gina Snyder
P.S.Please pray for Josiah, he started prague middle school yesterday- Heather chose to stay at home another year.
